Happy Freakin New Year!

Greetings and welcome to 2026.

How are you feeling about this new year?

I’ve done an impromptu canvassing of colleagues and friends and everyone agrees that the

energy thus far is very heavy. Everyone I know just wants to sleep or curl up in front of a fire and sleep or read a book until they fall asleep.

So, that’s why I’m wishing you a happy new year one month after the fact.

And me, don’t I want to sleep?

Well, yes I do but I am so selfless and humble that I just had to soldier on and get this blog out.

And…eventually I’m going to shamelessly promote my script course which is now ready to rock and roll.

I’ll get to that in a bit.

But first an update on my other creative projects, all of which are surging forward and sprinting to the finish line.

Book one of my The Fruit of Yggdrasil trilogy has passed the editing stage with flying colours and I’m now moving on to front pages, back pages and final proofreading. I will not do the proofreading as I am far too close and intimate with my book and if my brain hasn’t picked up any errors after scanning it 3761 times - it never will. But someone, other than yours truly, will.

So, if I was a gambling man, and I’m not, I would say that the book launch is about 2 months away. WOOHOO!

Book two is under way and I’m 10 chapters in already. Ideally, I will publish the 2nd book in 2026 as well and I think that’s doable. WOOHOO!

My 9 song concept music album is written and recorded. Next step is to prep each song for mastering, do the mastering and then it’s complete. Some art work, lyrics insert  and an advertising plan and then time for release and launch.

Again, I’m predicting it’s about two months away. WOOHOO!

I’m looking forward scoring some features this year. There’s nothing definite right now but I’m anticipating that will change soon and I’ll be actively promoting that aspect of my creativity this year.

What about scripts?

Scripts were relegated to the back burner while I completed some long overdue projects in 2025. They’ll move back to the front burner after book and album releases and there’s a few features I want to promote and get made into films. More on that in the coming months.

The Script Writing Course.

I used to run a one-day scriptwriting course when I lived in Vancouver and then I ran it a few times in Ottawa when I journeyed back to Ontario. I decided that it would be a great idea to expand it and offer it as an online course. And that’s just what I did. And now, it’s finished, published and ready for student enrolment.

“Scriptwriting For Aspiring Writers” is an 8 week course consisting of 8 video lessons and 8 online class sessions live and online. As you may have guessed it’s for novices who have been thinking about writing scripts but were unsure of where to begin. It’s also a great course for those students who are interested in a full-time scriptwriting program but aren’t sure scriptwriting is for them and want to figure it out before committing the big bucks! Because a full-time program is pricey!

Creating this course has not been an easy journey. I have slammed into so many obstacles in the past year, it’s a wonder I got it finished. I created a website on wix that looked great and I was very proud of. But in terms of functionality, wix choked on what I thought was a very simple ask. 90 minutes on the phone with a wix expert and I realized it couldn’t be done and sadly I had to trash the website. But wix and I weren’t finished. I needed to build my email list to promote the course and my colleagues all raved about mailchimp. BTW, wix and mailchimp do not communicate very well, so if you have another option in mind - use that instead. Subsequently I cancelled my mailchimp subscription. Quite frankly I wouldn’t use mailchimp even if it did integrate with wix - perhaps the most un user friendly site I’ve ever used.

Now, if you are a fan of ai assistants and you use ai regularly, you’d probably get along with wix and mailchimp and famously. I am not and I do not use ai. I’m in control, me Christopher the human, and not ai.

But that’s another story.

So, busy, busy and hopefully busier very soon.

Thanks for reading and hope to see you very soon.
